Norchester, the Berks Legion League champ, fell into the losers bracket with a 2-1 loss to Pennridge Friday in its opening game of the Region 2 Legion Tournament at Quakertown.
The defending champion Bulldogs will play Northampton in an elimination game Saturday at 10 a.m.
In the other elimination game, Birches, which lost to Hamburg 6-5, will face North Parkland in the second game of the morning doubleheader.
In the winners bracket Saturday at 4 p.m., South Parkland will face Pennridge. Hamburg will take on Quakertown in the second game.
Ryan DeHaven pitched a five-hitter for Pennridge, striking out eight and walking one.
Norchester took a 1-0 lead in the second. With one out, David Levengood doubled and Shay Geib singled. Levengood was credited with a steal of home when Geib broke for second and eventually was tagged out.
Pennridge tied it in the fourth when DeHaven, who had singled, scored on a wild pitch.
It took the lead with an unearned run in the sixth. With a runner on second, DeHaven reached on an error, putting runners at the corners with one out. Garrett Navitsky then hit a sacrifice fly to right.
Jarred Berish allowed one earned run on five hits in seven innings for Norchester. He struck out 12.
