Officials identify body found near Schuylkill River Trail in Reading

The Berks County coroner’s office has identified a body found Friday near the Schuylkill River Trail.

Scott R. Boyer, 67, was identified through a fingerprint scan, officials said. A death investigation in ongoing, but the death is not considered suspicious.

Boyer’s body was found in the vicinity of 800 River Road in Reading around 7 p.m. Friday, according to officials from coroner’s office. He is believed to have been living in a nearby homeless encampment, they said.
