The following activities are taking place at the Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library:
Art fundraiser
Blue Mountain High School student Ace Dougherty is organizing a Sept. 9 art fundraiser for the library as a graduation project. The event runs from noon to 2 p.m. at the library, 216 W. Independence St. Dougherty has been accepting donations of art from local artists. Those works will be auctioned off at the event, with all proceeds benefiting the library.
Dougherty is also holding a basket raffle to support the arts. Cost is $5 per sheet, winners to be picked up Sept. 30.
Run for the Books
The Run for the Books 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 16 at Albright’s Woods, 300 Grove St. The 5K begins at 9 a.m., and the fun run starts at 10.
Entry fee for the 5K is $25 by Sept. 1, $30 thereafter. The fun run fee is $15 by Sept. 1, $20 thereafter. Register at the library or online at www.pretzelcitysports.com. Race day registration also available.
Programs resume
Library storytime resumes Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 10:30 a.m. Play K for 3- to 5-year-olds resumes Thursday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m.
