PA State Police report 2025 Memorial Day weekend crashes, deaths down from 2024

Pennsylvania State Police investigated 756 crashes that resulted in five deaths over the four-day Memorial Day weekend, both decreases from last year’s holiday period.

State police said they handled 849 crashes that resulted in six deaths during the 2024 holiday.

Troopers said DUI-related crashes were up this year over last year — 57 to 40 — as well as DUI arrests — 519 to 456.

• Total crashes: 756

• Fatal crashes: 4

• People killed: 5

• People injured: 140

• DUI-related crashes: 57

• DUI-related fatal crashes: 2

2024 crash statistics

• Total crashes: 849

• Fatal crashes: 5

• People killed: 6

• People injured: 164

• DUI-related crashes: 40

• DUI-related fatal crashes: 2

2025 enforcement statistics

• DUI arrests: 519

• Speeding citations: 7,033

• Child seat citations: 166

• Seat belt citations: 977

• Other citations: 18,963

2024 enforcement statistics

• DUI arrests: 456

• Speeding citations: 9,006

• Child seat citations: 162

• Seat belt citations: 1,167

• Other citations: 17,148

These statistics cover only those incidents investigated by state police and do not include incidents handled by other law enforcement agencies.
