Violet Houck scored 21 points, including 10 in the pivotal third quarter, as the Wilson Bulldogs defeated Upper Dublin 51-46 Friday night in the first round of the PIAA Class 6A girls basketball playoffs.
The Bulldogs trailed 24-22 at halftime, but sparked by Houck’s surge, Wilson outscored Upper Dublin 20-11 in the third quarter for a 42-35 lead with one quarter to play.
In the fourth quarter, Jade Lea scored six of her nine points as the Bulldogs fended off Upper Dublin.
Also for Wilson, Laura Crocona had seven points and Kailani Hardy chipped in six.
Wilson (19-8) plays the winner of Archbishop Carroll-Council Rock South in the second round on Tuesday.
Wilson finished fifth in District 3 and Upper Dublin (21-6) was third in District 1.
