Police looking for help in fraud case in Berks

Tilden Township police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect who committed fraud to steal items from a home improvement store.

According to police, the suspect purchased items totaling $2,284 from Lowes in Tilden Ridge Shopping Center just before 9 p.m. on June 13. He paid for the items with a business account he was not authorized to use, using the stolen identity of the account holder.

The suspect left the store driving a U-Haul van with an Arizona registration plate with a plate number of AE45625. He was not the person who rented the van.

Anyone with information pertaining to the incident is asked to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Alert Berks County. Cash rewards are available up to $10,000 if the tip leads to an arrest.

Anonymous tips may be submitted by either calling 877-373-9913, downloading the ALERTBERKS app on a mobile device or by using a mobile phone to text tips to 847411 and typing ALERTBERKS along the the tip.

Tips can also provided directly to Tilden Township police by calling 610-562-9001.
