Police Reports, March 3, 2022

The following information comes from police reports and court records.

Harass physical contact: On  Feb. 19 at about 12:13 a.m. state police were dispatched to Route 61 in North Manheim Township to investigate harassment. When troopers arrived they discovered that Mariah Dixon, 36, Pottsville, struck an Orwigsburg woman with an open hand after following her from the southbound lane of Route 61. Dixon told police she was upset because the woman made a bad move in traffic so she followed her then struck her. Dixon was issued non-traffic citations.

Crash: On Feb. 18 at about 11 p.m. state police responded to an accident on Route 25 at North Good Spring Road in Hegins Township. An unidentified driver sideswiped a utility pole and then fled. No registration plate or trailer plate was obtained. The utility pole had minor damage.

Crash: On Feb. 16 at about 5:40 p.m. state police responded to an accident on Nut Grove Road near Bethel Road in Pine Grove Township. A Pine Grove woman lost control of her vehicle and struck the vehicle of Kenneth Krammes, 69, Pine Grove. No injuries were reported. One vehicle was towed.

Theft: State police are investigating the theft of 10 inspection stickers from Schaeffer’s Motorsports, West Brunswick Township.

Crash: On Feb. 14 at about 2:15 p.m. state police responded to an accident on Manheim Road at East Main Street in North Manheim Township. Terry Bensinger, 81, Schuylkill Haven, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Timothy Miller, 33, Hamburg, in a line of traffic approaching a stop sign. There were no injuries.

Crash: On Feb. 14 at about 3 a.m. state police responded to an accident at 455 Route 61 in North Manheim Township. Joseph Greene, 53, Schuylkill Haven, hit an unoccupied minivan parked at Red, White, and Blue Auto Sales, then left the lot. Through police investigation, Greene was identified and cited.

DUI on view drugs: On Feb. 7 at about 1 a.m. state police stopped a vehicle on Line and South Crescent streets in Tremont for an equipment violation. The driver, Holly Moyer, 55, Tremont, was arrested for DUI, drug possession and drug paraphernalia.

Crash: On Feb. 6, at about 1:40 a.m. state police responded to an accident on South Greenview Road and Meadow Drive in North Manheim Township. Aaron Cook, 30, Schuylkill Haven, struck a guide rail, causing disabling damage to the front of the car.

Crash: On Feb. 3 at about 1 p.m. state police responded to an accident at Weis Markets parking lot at Pottsville Park Plaza in Norwegian Township. Caitlin Lyons, 31, Valley View, was driving down a lane in between parking stalls when another driver backed into her vehicle.  Lyons stopped to try and exchange information, but the other driver fled. There were no reported injuries.

Criminal mischief: On Feb. 2 at about 10:40 p.m. state police were called to McDonald’s, 981 E. Main St. in North Manheim Township. Employees told police that a light-skinned man wearing glasses and a coat with a blue hooded sweatshirt walked up to the drive-thru window and requested free food. He then picked up a rock, and threw it at the drive-thru menu. McDonalds has estimated the damage to the electronic menu to be about $30,000.

Theft: On Jan. 25 at about 1:15 p.m. state police were called to BG’s Value Market, 70 Kings Village in Norwegian Township. Three employees at BG’s Market caught Julie Bieber, 48, Grantville, trying to steal $89 worth of steaks, bologna and cheese. Bieber was charged with Felony 3 retail theft.

Crash: On Jan. 25 at about 5:45 a.m. state police responded to an accident on Peach Mountain in Norwegian Township. Giacomo Salera, 56, was speeding when his car traveled off the road and into a tree. The vehicle had disabling damage and was towed. Salera had minor injuries and was transported to Lehigh Valley East.
