The following information is taken from police reports and court records.

Roving DUI Results: On Dec. 16, a roving DUI enforcement detail was held by state police in Schuylkill County. A total of 34 vehicles were contacted. One driver was arrested for DUI, one passenger was apprehended with a warrant, one operator was arrested for drug possession and underage, one passenger was arrested for furnishing minors, 31 warnings were provided, and 16 citations were issued.

Crash: On Dec. 20 at about 7:50 a.m., state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident in Wayne Township along Fair Road. A black pickup truck struck a utility pole, speed limit sign and mailbox. A neighbor told police a black truck was seen on the property just before 7 a.m., but was unsure of its direction of travel. The truck fled the scene.

Crash: On Dec. 17 at about 4 a.m., state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident on Route 61 in Port Clinton. Luis Moreno, 54, Miami, was driving a tractor-trailer that left the road and struck a legally parked vehicle, two buildings and a utility pole. Moreno suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment. Route 61 southbound was intermittently shut down for cleanup for more than six hours.

Crash: State police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident in Wayne Township on Dec. 13 at about 5:30 p.m. Jody Heffner, 51, Schuylkill Haven; Abigail Benner, 32, Lansford, ; and John Burke, 77, St. Clair, were driving north on Route 183 near Meadowbrook Drive. Benner and Burke slowed for stopped traffic when Heffner struck Benner’s SUV in the rear causing Benner to hit Burke’s car. Benner and her passenger, Michelle Lupola, 31, of Taylor were transported to Lehigh Valley East for their injuries. Heffner refused transport.

Drug Possession: On Dec. 12 at about 8:30 p.m. state police conducted a traffic stop at Willow Street and South Garfield Ave. in Schuylkill Haven. The driver was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The investigation is ongoing.

Crash: On Dec. 11 at about 12:20 a.m., state police responded to an accident in North Manheim Township. William Kirkwood, 27, Bethel, was driving north on the Gordon Nagle Trail, hit an embankment and overturned. Kirkwood was arrested for DUI. He was not injured. The vehicle was towed.

DUI on View Alcohol: On Dec. 11 at about 2:30 a.m. state police at Schuylkill Haven initiated a traffic stop in Pine Grove Township on Suedberg Road. Police arrested the driver, Toby Tobin, 32, Tremont, for DUI.

Crash: On Dec. 7 at about 5:30 p.m. state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident on Route 183 South in Wayne Township. John Hurter, 48, Leesport was driving south when he side-swiped a vehicle driven by Nancy Wesner, 58, Summit Station and hit two concrete pillars and a guideline to a utility pole.

Crash: On Nov. 30 at about 7:05 a.m., state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident on Route 61 south of Summer Valley Road in West Brunswick Township. A vehicle driven by Dylan Flor, 25, Pottsville, lost power and steering control. The car hit a guiderail and came to a stop in the left lane and blocking the lane. Flor was not injured.
