The following information is taken from police reports and court records.

Crash: On Oct. 19 at about 6:40 a.m. state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident on Village Road near Willow Drive in West Brunswick Township. Albert Liddon Jr., 56, Shenandoah, was driving a truck, and Renee Palina, 54, Frackville, was driving directly behind him. The truck came to a stop and attempted to back up, striking the front end of Palina’s car. The car had disabling damage and was towed.

Crash: On Oct,. 19 at about 10 a.m. state police responded to an accident at East Wiconisco and South Fourth streets in Tower City. Morgan DeJesus, 47, Lebanon, pulled away from a stop sign and struck a vehicle driven by Ashley Zuk, 40, Tower City. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. Zuk suffered a suspected minor injury. Both vehicles were towed.

Theft: On Oct. 17 at about 1 p.m. state police were dispatched to Old Forge Road in Pine Grove Township for a reported theft. The individual was scammed out of $5,000 from an individual claiming to work for the U.S. Treasury Department. The individual bought $5,000 worth of gift cards and read the numbers on the back of the cards to the person claiming to work for the government.

Drug Possession: On Oct. 17 at about 8 p.m. state police arrested Scott Bowers, 41, Cressona, on a probation warrant. A search incident before he was arrested revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine. Bowers was taken to Schuylkill County Prison.

Crash: On Oct. 14 at about 6:40 a.m. state police responded to an accident on Route 443 in Washington Township. Aiden Geist, 19, Pine Grove. was driving west on Deturksville Road when his car struck a utility pole and overturned. The car had disabling damage. Geist was not injured.

Crash: On Oct. 12 at about 7:40 p.m. state police responded to an accident at 446 Manheim Road in North Manheim Township. Gregory Kirkpatrick, 65, Schuylkill Haven, improperly passed another vehicle and struck a retaining wall at a private residence.

Explosion: On Oct. 10 at about 11:45 a.m. a trooper from the state police at Frackville responded to an explosion at Maine Drilling and Blasting, West Center Street, Good Spring. The explosion occurred as employees were disposing of boxes that had contained boosters used in the blasting process. Two employees were injured, and several vehicles and a office trailer were damaged.
