South Schuylkill News Police Reports, July 4, 2024

The following information comes from police reports and court records.

Crash: On June 17 at about 11:45 a.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 61 in North Manheim Township. Robert Zelinsky, 71, Pottsville, hit a piece of wood debris in the road. His SUV had disabling damage and was towed. There were no injuries

Crash: State police responded to an accident on Drehersville Road at Coal Mountain Road in West Brunswick Township on June 13 at about 4:15 p.m. Sarah Greblick, 18, Orwigsburg, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a pickup truck driven by Joshua Payne, 34, Orwigsburg. The pickup then struck a pole.  The pickup had disabling damage and was towed. No injuries were reported.

Theft/Crime by Deception: On June 12 at about 7 p.m., state police responded to a crime report in Hubley Township. Someone stole $3,000 from a woman through a cold call gift card-style scam. State police advise the public that no legitimate actor will ask to have a bill or debt settled through the use of gift cards. Police continue the investigation.

Crash: State police responded to a three-car accident on June 11 at about 4:45 p.m. Bernard Sagusky Jr., 73, Schuylkill Haven, was driving on Beckville Road when he pulled into the intersection at Gordon Nagle Trail and struck a pickup truck driven by Joshua Moyer, 38, Schuylkill Haven. Moyer’s pickup then struck a vehicle driven by Patricia Robertson, 68, Pottsville. Sagusky’s and Moyer’s vehicles were towed. Sagusky had minor injuries and was transported to Lehigh Valley East Hospital.

Crash: On June 6 at about 4:40 p.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 895 at Front Street in Auburn. A vehicle driven by Michelle Ochenrider, 53, Schuylkill Haven, collided with a motorcycle driven by Thomas Creitz, 59, Auburn. Creitz was injured but refused transport.

Crash: On June 5 at about 5 p.m., state police responded to a two-car accident on Route 61 at Penn Street in West Brunswick Township. Starr Gerber, 21, New Ringgold, attempted to make a U-turn and collided with an SUV driven by Anthony Carroll, 79, Orwigsburg. A passenger in Carroll’s vehicle was transported to Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital for her injuries. The SUV was towed.

Crash: On May 24 at about 7:40 a.m., state police responded to an accident at Washington and Bridge streets in Tremont. While attempting to back his tractor trailer, Mohammad Eisa Qaderi, 33, Rosenberg, Texas, failed to yield to traffic and struck two SUVs. There were no injuries. The Volkswagen was towed.

Crash: On May 22 at about 1:10 p.m., state police responded to a three-car accident on Route 209 east of South Reed Street in Porter Township. Ryley Kopp, 33, Tower City, was driving an SUV and hit a motorcycle driven by Randy Martin, 68, Fountain Run, Ky. The motorcycle hit an SUV driven by Antelia Trawitz, 47, Tower CityMartin was transported to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for his injuries.

Crash: State police reported that on May 12 at about 5:15 p.m. Wyatt Herrmann, 22, Auburn, was involved in a motorcycle accident on Market Street in West Brunswick Township. The motorcycle left the road, hit an embankment and came to a stop in a driveway. Herrmann was seriously injured and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. The motorcycle was towed.

Crash: On May 11 at about 10:30 a.m., state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident on Route 209 in Tremont. An unidentified driver traveling south on Route 209 hit two vehicles parked on the shoulder and left the area without reporting the crash.
