With its playoff hopes hanging in the balance, Reading High produced one of its best performances of the season on Wednesday night
The Red Knights used their speed on both ends of the floor and relied on second-chance and fastbreak points to down Gov. Mifflin 64-52 in a Berks Girls Basketball League Division I matchup at Shillington.
With Its third win in as many days, Reading High (6-6, 12-10) likely earned the final BCIAA playoff wild card berth over Fleetwood. The Red Knights were ahead of the Tigers in the District 3 power rankings going into Wednesday’s game, and a win over the Mustangs likely solidifies their position.
Both teams played at a frantic pace, with lots of turnovers on both sides. Reading High played full-court defense for the game, which disrupted Gov. Mifflin’s offense.
The Mustangs, who also will make the county playoffs, dropped to 8-4, 14-8.
