Reading High hands Wilson its worst boys basketball loss since 2017

Ruben Rodriguez scored 15 points as Reading High routed Wilson 64-36 in a boys basketball game Tuesday night at West Lawn.

The Red Knights (2-0 Berks I, 5-0) handed the Bulldogs (0-2, 3-2) their worst loss since Reading’s 78-45 blowout win on Feb. 7, 2017, in a regular season finale at West Lawn.

With Daniel Alcantara scoring 11 of his 14 points, the Red Knights took a 28-10 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. They led 38-22 at halftime and 56-25 going into the fourth quarter after holding Wilson to three points in the third quarter.

Myles Grey had 13 points for Reading, which plays Thursday at Lower Merion.

Foday Sillah scored 10 points for Wilson.
