Join Reading Hospital’s Community Wellness Department for mocktails and candid conversations during “Let’s Talk, Mammograms” on Tuesday, Sept. 23. The free event is open to the public and will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St., Reading, PA 19601.
“Let’s Talk, Mammograms” is a supportive and friendly event where women of all ages can learn and have fun. Grab a friend, neighbor or coworker and enjoy an evening together with mocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres, pinkalicious activities, informational tables, and a photo booth. Attendees will also receive a free make-up bag filled with an assortment of treats and self-care items.
Hospital staff will be available to help attendees schedule a mammogram, and Rep. Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz will host a panel discussion from 6 to 7 p.m. with four Reading Hospital medical experts, who will share information about mammograms and answer attendee questions. Speakers include: Michele Baum, BSRS, RT, Manager, Mammography and Breast Health Center, Reading Hospital Anita Wilhelm, Cancer Genetics Nurse Practitioner, Reading Hospital Kendra Winter, MD, Breast Surgical Oncologist, Tower Health Medical Group Sherri Wunderlich, Oncology Nurse Navigator, McGlinn Cancer Institute, Reading Hospital.
The event is part of the hospital’s recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which begins in October.
