Reading Truck adds new models to its lineup of crane bodies

Reading Truck has added two new models to its lineup of truck bodies, the company recently announced.

The Reading-based truck body equipment manufacturer and distributor said it has expanded its selection with the addition of the RM-25 and RM-35 crane bodies.

Crane bodies are a type of truck body, or fixture purpose-built on a truck chassis, designed to handle heavy crane applications.

Reading Truck said the models round out its portfolio for RM Series product line by providing customers with a complete range of lifting capabilities and crane body options, from midweight to heavy duty.

The new options offer crane bodies for lighter duty use than the company’s other crane bodies, the RM-45 and RM-78, according to the Reading Truck website.

The RM-25 is “the ideal solution for those who need reliable lifting capabilities without heavy daily demands,” according to Reading Truck, while the RM-35 “delivers exceptional performance for midduty lifting tasks.”

The RM-25 and RM-35 are designed for cranes up to 5,000 and 6,000 pounds, fit on Class 4 and 5 chassis and are available in 9-foot and 11-foot lengths, respectively.

For strength, stability, and reliable performance under rigorous conditions, the RM-25 is built with a 6-inch heavy-duty steel understructure, and the RM-35 is built with a heavy-duty torsion box understructure, Reading Truck said.

They can be upfitted with most leading cranes and come equipped with manual (RM-25) or electric outriggers.

Both models offer features such as a work-bench bumper, spray lined bed and integrated headache rack to further enhance safety and functionality, the company said.

Reading Truck said the crane bodies reflect decades of engineering and manufacturing expertise.
