The city of Reading will hold its annual tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 21.
“As the holiday season draws near, it is important for us to come together to illuminate our community with the radiant spirit of joy and togetherness,” Mayor Eddie Moran said in a release. “I invite everyone to join me as we begin a holiday season filled with warmth, goodwill and shared happiness.”
Moran said the family friendly event on Penn Square will include performances the Reading High School Choir and Reading Vocal Society, and dances performed by the Olivet Boys & Girls Club.
Refreshments will be provided by local organizations and area small businesses.
There also will be messages from local leaders.

Parking: Free parking will be available from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Fifth and Cherry streets and Fourth and Cherry streets parking lots.
