Route 222 lanes reopens where tractor-trailer flipped at roundabout in northern Berks [update]

Route 222 southbound has reopened at the Schaeffer Road roundabout in Maidencreek Township, two hours after crews removed a tractor-trailer that flipped while navigating the newest traffic circle, Berks County emergency officials said.

The accident happened Wednesday about 8:30 a.m. when the cement-hauling rig overturned. It reopened shortly before 10:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported. Further details were unavailable.
