A 19-year-old Schuylkill County man suffered multiple injuries in a head-on crash over the weekend in North Heidelberg Township, state police said.
Azure B. Bond of Orwigsburg was taken to Reading Hospital with what troopers described as serious injuries following the crash shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Information on his medical condition was unavailable.
Troopers provided this account:
Bond was driving a car northbound on North Heidelberg Road and was unable to navigate the turn at Old Church Road. The car slammed into a pickup truck at the stop sign on Old Church.
The driver of the pickup truck, Michael J. Sensenig, 20, of Newmanstown, Lebanon County, was uninjured.
A passenger in Bond’s car left the scene before police arrived.
Both vehicles needed to be towed.
An investigation continues.
