A shooting believed to have stemmed from a nearby house party over the weekend has left a man dead, Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams said Monday.
Reading police were dispatched about 5 a.m. Sunday to the 1200 block of Oak Lane, which parallels Hampden Boulevard on the foot of Mount Penn, for reports of shots fired. The location is about a block from Hampden Park.
Officers found a shooting victim, who was deceased.
Adams was withholding the victim’s name.
The shooting is being treated as a homicide, the district attorney said. No arrests have been made.
“We believe this incident emanated from a house party in the 1200 block of Lorraine Road,” Adams said. “The individuals involved most likely were at the house party.”
Adams said it’s an active investigation.
