The following information comes from police reports and court records.
Crash: On Dec. 4 at about 3 p.m. state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident on Route 61 in North Manheim Township. Lourde Florimon Ramirez, 23, Shenandoah, hit the side of a vehicle, which spun and hit the front of Ramirez’s car. The Chevrolet also came to a stop in the left lane. There were no injuries.
Fatal crash: A man was killed in a crash Dec. 3 at around midnight on Main Street in Porter Township. State police responded after a pickup truck crossed over the double yellow line and struck a tractor-trailer head-on. The driver of the pickup had fatal injuries. Both vehicles had disabling damage. The driver of the Mack truck was not injured.
Dog Law Violation: On Dec. 2 at about 2 p.m. state police responded to 71 Pottsville St., Cressona, to investigate the report of a dog law violation. The dog owner was cited after it was discovered two pit bulls escaped the fenced-in property and knocked over a Schuylkill Haven borough utility worker.
Hit and Run: On Dec. 2 at about 3 p.m. state police at Schuylkill Haven received a report of a hit-and-run accident at 112 Schuylkill St. in Cressona. Montene Moyer, 57, Cressona, parked her SUV and opened the left rear door as an unidentified vehicle passed by. The right side mirror of that vehicle hit the door of the SUV, causing minor damage. The driver failed to stop and exchange information with Moyer. There were no injuries.
Crash: On Dec. 1 at about 9:20 p.m. state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident on the Gordon Nagle Trail in North Manheim Township. Jahleke West, 21, Coal Township, fell asleep at the wheel. His vehicle struck a utility pole, causing major damage to the front of the car. West suffered an injury but refused transport.
Crash: State police responded to an accident in North Manheim Township on Nov. 22 at about 4 p.m. Luther Snyder, 70, Schuylkill Haven, failed to yield for slowed traffic. The car struck a tree along Long Run Road then hit an embankment. The car was towed from the scene. Snyder had a minor injury but refused transport.
Crash: On Nov. 2 at about 6 p.m. state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident on the Pottsville Minersville Highway, Route 901, in Norwegian Township. Zackery Berry, 24, Tremont, struck a vehicle driven by John Flannery Jr., 19, Ashland. Flannery’s passenger Michael Watahovich, 79, Sugarloaf, was flown to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest. Flannery was injured and transported by Penn State Health St. Joseph to Lehigh Valley East. Berry was not injured.
