South Schuylkill News Police Reports, Aug. 1, 2024

The following information comes from police reports and court records.

Crash: On July 17 at about 1:15 p.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 183 in Wayne Township. Zulakha Rodrigues, 74, Auburn, was traveling north and entered the southbound late, striking a vehicle driven by Carl Miller, 67, Bernville. Both vehicles were towed. Rodrigues was transported by helicopter to Hershey Medical Center for his injuries and Miller was transported to Geisinger St. Luke’s by Schuylkill EMS.

Theft: State police responded to Pine Drive in Hubley Township for a report of theft. A man said his husky was lost between July 13 and 15. He had been notified by an unknown person that the dog had been found but would not be returned. Anyone with information  is asked to contact state police at 570-754-4600.

Crash: On July 12 at about 7:45 a.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 183 S. in Wayne Township. Sophia Chipriano, 18, Schuylkill Haven, struck a deer crossing the road. Her SUV was towed. Chipriano was not injured.

Crash: On July 11 at about 8:30 p.m., state police responded to a hit-and-run accident at 125 Main St. in Seltzer. Bernard Myro, 79, Seltzer, told police his parked SUV was struck by an unidentified vehicle traveling west on Main Street.

Theft: State police responded to a theft of tools from a job site at Rosies Road in Barry Township. More than $1,000 worth of tools were stolen from an unlocked trailer between July 8 at 3 p.m. and July 10 at 2 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Gregory Monaghan at 570-754-4600 and reference PA24-914141.

Criminal Mischief: Sometime between July 6 at 10 p.m. and July 7 at 11:45 a.m. someone rummaged through and damaged an Auburn man’s boat. State police are investigating.

Crash: On July 6 at about 3:15 p.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 61 S. west of S. Liberty St. in North Manheim Township. Emily Seaman, 20, Cressona, attempted to make a left turn and collided with a vehicle driven by Raven Wesley, 22, New Ringgold. Both vehicles were towed. Seaman was transported to Geisinger St. Luke’s. Wesley was not injured.

Crash: On July 3 at about 1:45 a.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 61 east of University Drive in North Manheim Township. Monica Jeronis, 49, Orwigsburg, was driving north on Route 61 when her vehicle struck the median due to a mechanical breakdown. The vehicle was towed. Jeronis was not injured.

Theft: On July 2, a Schuylkill Haven woman left her cellphone at a self-checkout kiosk at Weis Markets at Pottsville Park Plaza. When she returned to retrieve her phone, it was missing. State police recovered and returned the cell phone. Theft charges against a Pottsville woman were filed.

Found: State police at Schuylkill Haven responded to 106 S. Route 183 in Wayne Township on June 30 at about 5:15 p.m. A clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance suspected to be methamphetamine was found. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Schuylkill Haven at 570-754-4600.

Theft: On June 25, a Pine Grove man reported to state police that his 2003 black Towmaster trailer was stolen from his property on Oak Grove Road in Pine Grove Township between April and June.

Crash: On June 22 at about 10 p.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 125 in Tremont. Kelly Stine, 53, Donaldson, was driving north when an unidentified vehicle traveling south in the northbound lane struck her SUV and fled. There were no injuries.
