South Schuylkill News Police Reports, Aug. 31, 2023

The following information is taken from police reports and court records.

Fatal Crash: On Aug. 18 at about 2:30 p.m. state police at Schuylkill Haven were dispatched to Tumbling Run Road west of township highway 702 in North Manheim Township for a motorcycle accident. Bradley Renninger, 34, Minersville, was traveling east on Tumbling Run Road and struck a large tree laying across the road. Renninger was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries. When EMS arrived Renninger had already succumbed to his injuries.

Crash: On Aug. 14 at about 8:25 a.m., state police responded to an accident in Cressona. Jeanette Moyer, 50, Mount Carmel, was traveling north on Chestnut Street near Front Street. As she neared the intersection she attempted to negotiate a left curve and struck a cement bridge rail. Moyer suffered minor injuries and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital East for further medical evaluation. Her SUV was towed.

Theft: State police at Schuylkill Haven were dispatched to Route 61 Highway South in North Manheim Township for a series of thefts occurring on July 25 at Ollies Bargain Outlet, Dollar General, Giant and Staples in the Cressona Mall. At least $130 in merchandise was stolen by a group of four juveniles. All suspects were identified.

Theft: State police  are investigating a theft at 300 Pleasant Valley Road in Pine Grove Township. A Honda self-propelled mower valued at $200 and a 5-gallon gas can were stolen between July 14 at 6 p.m. and July 17 at 10 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
