The following information comes from police reports and court records.
Crash: On March 2 about 10:30 a.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 209 at North Third Street in Porter Township. A vehicle driven by Don Neumeister, 63, Tower City, collided with one driven by Patrick Cooper, 30, Annville. Both vehicles had disabling damage and were towed. There were no injuries.
Crash: State police responded to an accident on March 2 at about 4 p.m. on Route 183 south in Wayne Township. A car driven by Jeffrey Gilfillan II, 43, Schuylkill Haven, rear-ended a pickup truck driven by Jeffrey Byerly, 62, Schuylkill Haven. Both vehicles had disabling damage. Gilfillan had a suspected minor injury. Byerly was not injured.
Hit and Run: On March 1 at about 1:20 p.m., state police were called to Route 443 in Pine Grove Township. A vehicle ran over two mailboxes in the 100 block of Pleasant Valley Road and left the scene. Property owners did not have video surveillance, and there were no witnesses.
Hit-and-Run Crash: State police responded to an accident on Route 183 at River Street in Cressona on March 1 at about 5:15 p.m. An unidentified vehicle sideswiped a vehicle driven by Fallon Boyer, 71, St. Clair, and left the scene without notifiying police. Crash: On Feb. 29 at about 2 p.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 61 at Municipal Road in West Brunswick Township. An SUV driven by Mauro Gonzalez-Rubi, 64, Reading, went through a red light and hit a car in the intersection. Both vehicles had disabling damage. There were no injuries.
Crash: On Feb. 29 at about 5:10 p.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 61 in North Manheim Township. Kyle Bainbridge, 21, Orwigsburg, was driving south on Route 61 when he stopped and made an illegal U-turn. While stopped, Bainbridge’s vehicle was rear-ended by a car driven by Jayce Livinghouse, 20, Tower City. After impact Bainbridge continued driving north on Route 61. He left the scene without notifying police. Bainbridge’s vehicle was described as a silver Acura TSX. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 570-754-4600 and reference PA2024-271669.
Crash: State police responded to an accident Feb. 28 about 2:10 p.m. on Route 61 near State Game Lands Road in West Brunswick Township. A tree fell on a car driven by Melvin Britt, 43, Arverne, N.Y. Britt was injured and transported to Lehigh Valley East. The car was towed.
DUI: State police initiated a traffic stop on the 300 block of East Main Street in Tremont on Feb. 26 at about 10:35 a.m. Driver Sonya Wallace, 32, Pine Grove, exhibited indications or impairment and submitted to field sobriety tests. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Crash: On Feb. 26 at about 3:10 p.m., state police responded to an accident on South Sillyman Street in Cressona. A vehicle driven by Sala Coleman, Port Carbon, passed too close to a car driven by Nicole Keating, Pottsville, pushing it off the road. Keating suffered minor injuries. Coleman was not injured.
Crash: On Feb. 23 at about 12:10 p.m., state police responded to an accident at Kings Plaza in Norwegian Township. Shakira Bethea, 48, Minersville, was on the thruway of King’s Village Mall, and her 2014 Dodge Avenger left the thruway and crashed into a support beam near the shopping center near Palermo’s Pizza. Bethea was transported from the accident with a suspected medical emergency.
Crash: On Feb. 22 at about 11:30 p.m. state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to a one-car accident on Beckville Road at its intersection with Game Club Road in North Manheim Township. David Strausser, 40, Pottsville, was attempting to make a right hand curve when his 2019 Kia left its lane and struck a piece of railroad equipment on the shoulder of the road. Strausser was not injured and admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
Crash: On Feb. 21 at about 1:50 a.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 443, E. Pottsville Street in Pine Grove. A vehicle driven by Millena Bashore, 23, Pine Grove, struck a truck driven by Brian Wells, 41, York. There were no injuries. Bashore’s car had disabling damage and was towed.
Crash: On Feb. 18 at about 6:40 p.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 895 in Washington Township. Cole Campbell, 27, Schuylkill Haven, struck two deer on the road. Campbell was not injured. The SUV was operable.
Crash: State police responded to a one-car accident on Feb. 18 at about 6:30 p.m. on Fearnot Road west of Mill Road in Hubley Township. Mackenzie Varner, 24, Klingerstown, struck a utility pole. Varner was not injured. The car was towed.
Crash: On Feb. 9 at about 12:45 a.m., state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident on Route 901 in Foster Township. Donald Sterzinger, 50, Lockport, N.Y., was exiting Interstate 81 when his vehicle tipped over on the southbound shoulder.
