2-vehicle crash: A teen driver from Orwigsburg was cited for causing a June 4 two-vehicle crash on Route 183 at Summer Hill Road in Wayne Township that seriously injured several people. The 17-year-old driver, whose name was withheld, tried to turn left onto Route 183 from Summer Hill without proper clearance, state police at Schuylkill Haven said. Troopers said the teen’s SUV was struck on the rear driver’s side by a southbound car driven by Luke J. Angstadt, 24, of Schuylkill Haven. Both drivers were taken to Reading Hospital by ambulance. A 16-year-old Orwigsburg boy who was a passenger in the teen driver’s vehicle was flown by medical helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital for serious injuries. A second passenger, described only as a male, was also seriously injured and was taken by Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven Area EMS to Reading Hospital.
Burglary arrest: State police arrested a 37-year-old Schuylkill Haven man after responding to a report of a burglary in progress in South Manheim Township. Troopers responded to Doe Drive shortly after midnight on June 15 and arrested the suspect, who did not use force to enter the home. He wasn’t identified by name in the news release. The home was occupied by a 46-year-old man and two teenagers, all of whom were listed as the victims.
