The Juice Pod West Reading opened its doors on Saturday, Feb. 1, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and special giveaways. Located at 519 Penn Ave., this highly anticipated addition to downtown West Reading is the first Juice Pod location in Berks County.
The Juice Pod is a fast-casual health food concept focused on fresh, high-quality, and nutrient-dense ingredients. Its menu includes options like cold-pressed juices, superfood smoothies, acai bowls, salads, wraps, bowls, wellness shots, toasts, and more. West Reading marks the 17th location, continuing the brand’s growth from its origins in Delaware County and expanding into Montgomery County, Chester County, the Jersey Shore, and now Berks County.
“It’s been amazing to see The Juice Pod grow over the years, and we’re so excited to bring it to downtown West Reading,” said Danielle Leonhardt, founder of The Juice Pod. “This community has so much to offer, and we’re looking forward to seeing how West Reading makes The Juice Pod their own.”
The grand opening was well attended, bringing together local residents, community leaders, employees from The Juice Pod, and customers. Honored guests in attendance included State Senator Judy Schwank, West Reading Mayor Samantha Kaag, and Mark Rentschler, representative of the Kutztown University Small Business Development Center. The first 50 attendees received complimentary acai bowls and branded tote bags, creating excitement and a warm welcome for the new business.
Owned and operated by franchisee John Henry Green Jr., The Juice Pod West Reading embodies the values of a family-run business while delivering on The Juice Pod’s mission to provide fresh and nutritious food. A proud Berks County resident, Green shared his excitement about officially welcoming the community and bringing his passion for health and wellness to his neighbors. Adding to the family dynamic, Green’s son, Jadon, is part of the store’s management team, forming a father-and-son duo dedicated to serving their community.
“Our grand opening was a truly special day,” said Green. “It’s exciting to bring fresh, healthy food to my hometown and to share this journey with my son. We look forward to serving our neighbors and making a positive impact in the community.”
