Three basketball games Thursday involving Berks County teams are called off

Three basketball games involving Berks County teams scheduled for Thursday have been called off, at least two of them because of COVID-19 issues.

Reading High’s boys basketball game at Lower Merion was canceled, and Fleetwood’s home game against Catasauqua was postponed to a later date.

Red Knights coach Rick Perez said on Twitter that Lower Merion canceled because of COVID-19 issues there.

Fleetwood coach Terry Sitler said the Tigers’ game was postponed because of COVID-19 issues at Catasauqua.

In addition, the Wilson girls basketball home game against Downingtown East was postponed to a later date. It wasn’t clear why it was called off.
