Three players from Berks Field Hockey League high schools have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region team from Pennsylvania, it has been announced.
Oley Valley senior midfielder Morgan Snyder and Twin Valley senior goalie Maddie Stevens were named to the 16-member first team, while Oley Valley senior midfielder Taylor Vaccaro made the 11-player second team.
Boyertown junior midfielder Peyton Shellaway also was named to the second team.
Snyder, the Berks Player of the Year and a two-time All-Berks selection, had 23 goals and 15 assists for 61 points this season for the Lynx, ranking second in the BCIAA in goals and points. She tied for second in assists. She will play next season at Penn State.
Stevens, a four-time All-Berks pick and a second-team All-Region selection last season, helped a relatively inexperienced Twin Valley team go 10-10 and qualify for the Berks and District 3 Class 2A playoffs. She had seven shutouts. She will play next season at Liberty.
Vaccaro, a two-time All-Berks selection, had a league-high 32 goals and 15 assists for a league-high 79 points for the Lynx. She will play next season at Delaware.
Snyder and Vaccaro helped Oley (27-1-1) win Berks, District 3 Class 1A and PIAA Class 1A championships.
NFHCA committees, made up of coaches, make the All-Region selections following the review and evaluation of nominations submitted by member coaches.
