Tips sought in robbery of Cumru credit union

Crime Alert Berks County, a citizen crime-fighting group, is offering cash rewards of up to $10,000 to anyone supplying tips that lead to an arrest in this case or any other case or crime.

Tipsters with crime information can call 877-373-9913 anytime or contact Crime Alert at its website at www.alertberks.org or via the AlertBerks smartphone app. No one will ask the name of the caller, who will be assigned a code number.

Offense: Robbery

Date and time: Dec. 20, 8:37 a.m.

Suspects: Two males, one average height, the other tall, both with brown skin and wearing dark hooded jackets, dark pants and dark masks. One had dark sneakers with white trim; the other had dark sneakers with dark trim.

Location: Members First Federal Credit Union, 516 E. Lancaster Ave., Cumru Township

Police synopsis: Two people entered the credit union and one jumped over the front counter. They demanded money and were taken to the vault area. They stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Alert or Cumru police at 610-777-9595.
