The West Pittston-based travel agent accused of defrauding dozens of clients out of hundreds of thousands of dollars was charged this week with pocketing the vacation money of two more people, according to court records.
Eileen Miner, 69, is now charged in at least 35 cases spanning four counties related to the operations at her business, Thompson Tours.
According to the latest charges filed by Wyoming Area Regional Police, two of the latest victims paid Miner $7,340 for a Heart of Switzerland Tour that was supposed to go to Europe from July 16-24.
Police said the victims never received any airline or ticket information from Miner.
One of the victims contacted Miner on July 5 to say she had health problems and could not attend, and Miner acknowledged receiving the cancelation forms, police said.
However, Miner never refunded the money and eventually stopped responding to inquiries, according to the complaint.
Police charged Miner with deceptive business practices, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal use of a communication facility and access device fraud.
Court records indicated she had not yet been arraigned on the new charges.
According to court records, Miner is facing nearly 100 theft and fraud-related charges stemming from dozens of cases filed in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Schuylkill and Centre counties.
Most of her cases have now been transferred to Lackawanna County for prosecution, according to court records.
