Alyssa Green had 35 assists and 23 digs as visiting Twin Valley knocked off Hollidaysburg 3-1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-18, 25-21) in a PIAA Class 3A girls volleyball first-round match Tuesday night.
The Raiders (20-6) won in their first appearance in the state tournament and advanced to Saturday’s quarterfinals against District 7 champion Freeport, a 3-0 winner over Plum.
Laura Beigel had 12 kills and two blocks for Twin Valley, the third-place finisher in District 3. Emma Lessick had 15 kills, 17 digs and four aces and Juliet Simmet had five kills, 11 digs and two aces.
