Twin Valley opens defense of Berks field hockey title with 5-0 win

Natali Foster and Emma Winther each had a goal and two assists Monday to lead defending champion Twin Valley to a 5-0 win over visiting Schuylkill Valley in the Berks Field Hockey League quarterfinals.

The second-seeded Raiders (18-2) will host third-seeded Wilson Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the semifinals.

Adrianna Hall, Makayla Carahaly and Hadley Munn also scored for Twin Valley.

Goalie Maddie Stevens made two saves to post Twin Valley’s eighth shutout this season. Bailey Unterkoffler made eight saves for Schuylkill Valley (9-8-1).

Wilson 12, Berks Catholic 3: At West Lawn, Emma Staron, Erika Culp, Kayla Wilkes and Sydney Stuhl all scored two goals to lead the third-seeded Bulldogs (16-3) over the sixth-seeded Saints (9-9).

Aubreigh Uba scored three goals to lead Berks Catholic.

Catherine Arentz and Alexis Hoffman had one goal and two assists each for Wilson, which will play at Twin Valley Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the semifinals.

Oley Valley 10, Hamburg 0: At Oley, the top-seeded Lynx (16-1) scored five goals in each half to down the eighth-seeded Hawks (9-10).

Karlee Howard got the Lynx started with a goal in first quarter off an assist from Lauren Schaeffer. Taylor Vaccaro scored later in the first quarter.

Oley Valley tacked on three goals in the second quarter, four in the third and one in the fourth.

Alexandra Lopez had two goals and Schaeffer a goal and an assist for the Lynx.

The Lynx advance the semifinals at home Wednesday at 7 p.m. to Fleetwood.

Fleetwood 2, Daniel Boone 1 (OT): At Fleetwood, Casey Lynn Dewald scored her second goal of the game with 7:19 left in the second overtime to lift the fourth-seeded Tigers (15-3) over the fifth-seeded Blazers (12-6-1).

Dewald and Daniel Boone’s Lauren Kaba scored in regulation. Daniel Boone’s Hannah Huddleson was credited with five defensive saves.

Fleetwood advances to the semifinals to play at Oley Valley Wednesday at 7 p.m.
