Twin Valley’s Maddie Stevens, a sophomore goalie, has been named to the U-16 Women’s National Team for field hockey, USA Field Hockey announced Friday.
The selection to the 35-player team came following a five-day camp at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.
Stevens, a two-time All-Berks pick, had 12 shutouts and allowed 25 goals in 29 games in helping the Raiders win Berks, District 3 Class 2A and PIAA Class 2A championships last fall.
The U-16 team will train in Raleigh, N.C., from March 11-14 before going to Vancouver to play a four-match series against Canada’s U-16 team at the end of April.
