Two people were killed in a Friday night crash in Richmond Township in which a vehicle struck a house, Fleetwood police said.
Police gave this account:
A 23-year-old male lost control of his vehicle along Moselem Springs Road, also known as Route 662, as he approached Forge Hill Road. The vehicle struck a utility pole and then a residence at 1689 Moselem Springs Road.
The driver and his passenger, a 20-year-old male, were trapped in the vehicle. Both died at the scene.
Police were withholding the names of those involved.
No one inside the house was injured, but the structure sustained moderate to major damage, and residents were not allowed back in until it can be inspected.
Fleetwood police were assisted by the Berks County coroner’s office, the Walnuttown and Virginville fire companies and fire police units from Berks County departments.
Route 662 was closed for about five hours while crews responded to the crash.
