A veteran from Berks County whose body went unclaimed will be buried at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery during a service the public is invited to attend.
The serviceman is Donald Fleck, 92, an Air Force veteran from Reading. While he was serving, Fleck was stationed at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
The Reading nonprofit organization Veterans Making A Difference is arranging the service, which will be held Nov. 24 at 9:30 a.m.
Those planning to attend should meet Doug and Liz Graybill of Veterans Making a Difference at the cemetery office at 9 a.m.
Veterans Making a Difference works closely with the Berks County coroner’s office in cases of an unclaimed veteran’s remains to verify the deceased served in the military, and to pay the funeral home, pick up the deceased’s remains and arrange for a burial with military honors.
Monetary donations to help cover expenses can be made to: Veterans Making A Difference and mailed to 2412 Spring St., Reading, PA 19609.
