What to know about teams in Division IV of the Berks Girls Basketball League in 2023-24

Oley Valley

Coach: Kerry Snyder, third season, 25-19.

Last season: 9-3 Berks IV, 15-7.

PIAA classification: Class 3A.

Top players: All-Berks G Morgan Snyder, all-division F Dana Messner, all-division G Ryanne Wheeler, F Izzy Buehler.

Outlook: With a core group of experienced players, the Lynx are poised to contend for the Berks IV title and qualify for the county and district playoffs.

Brandywine Heights

Coach: Jason Bieber, second season (226-136 overall, including 13 seasons at Boyertown and four at Tulpehocken).

Last season: 9-3 Berks IV, 15-9, District 3 Class 3A quarterfinalist.

PIAA classification: Class 3A.

Top players: All-division G Olivia Moyer, all-division G Addison Benner, F Grace Potteiger, F Dana Wartzenluft, C Avery Potteiger.

Outlook: With five returning starters, the Bullets look to repeat as Berks IV champions and advance to the county, district and state playoffs.

Kutztown

Coach: Jon Escueta,

Last season: 3-9 Berks IV, 6-16.

PIAA Classification: Class 3A.

Top players: G Lauren Akers, G Kaley Nawrocki, G Gabriella Cardenas, G Taylor Greenawalt.

Outlook: The Cougars will try to build upon last season.

Tulpehocken

Coach: Timothy Kline.

Last season: 3-9 Berks IV, 4-18.

PIAA Classification: Class 3A.

Top players: C-F Juliet Snyder, G Lyla Pugh.

Outlook: The Trojans look to improve upon last season.

Antietam

Coach: Tim Rivera, second season.

Last season: 0-12 Berks IV, 1-21.

PIAA Classification: Class 2A.

Top players: Alyzah Reyes, Airyana Jones.

Outlook: The Mounts will try to win their first game in league play since the 2019-20 season.
