What to know about the teams in the Berks Girls Bowling League in 2023-24

Berks I

Gov. Mifflin

Coach: Kari Addis, seventh season.

Last season: 15-2 Berks I, 33-3; Berks champion.

Bowlers to watch: All-Berks Valleri Addis, All-Berks Lily Watts.

Outlook: The Mustangs return all of their varsity bowlers and will look to make a push for back-to-back county championships.

Daniel Boone

Coach: Scott Moulin, first season.

Last season: 17-1 Berks I, 44-1.

Bowlers to watch: All-division Emma Elgonitis, all-division Kristin Fitzcharles, all-division Julia Maggs, Kandence Jeitles.

Outlook: The Blazers, who have plenty of experience, will look to be a competitive team.

Exeter

Coach: Louis Ellis, 29th season.

Last season: 12-6 Berks I, 36-6; Berks runner-up.

Bowlers to watch: All-Berks Haley Schwenk, Makenzie Fizz.

Outlook: The Eagles will need to reorganize for the upcoming season, and are looking to be a darkhorse team.

Muhlenberg

Coach: Rob Wolfe, fourth season.

Last season: 9-9 Berks I, 25-11.

Bowlers to watch: Emma Dietrich, Sammi Noll, Savannah Kirlin.

Outlook: The Muhls are looking forward to rising up and filling last year’s seniors spots.

Wilson

Coach: Ryan Wyandt.

Last season: 6-12 Berks I, 23-13.

Bowlers to watch: All-division Natalie Bonnette, all-division Brielle Turner.

Outlook: The Bulldogs will look to improve.

Reading High

Coach: Joe Marino, 10th season.

Last season: 2-16 Berks I, 9-30

Bowler to watch: Yamileishka Rodriguez.

Outlook: The Red Knights lost three seniors but will be aiming to be competitive and have fun.

Twin Valley

Coach: Matt Bonnell.

Last season: 0-18 Berks I, 1-35.

Bowlers to watch: Information not reported.

Outlook: The Raiders will look to improve.

Berks II

Conrad Weiser

Coach: Brian Zechman, eighth season.

Last season: 15-0 Berks II, 21-15.

Bowlers to watch: All-division Courtney Britton, all-division Isabella Bixler, Rachel Pasko.

Outlook: The Scouts return the core of their team and look to make another run at the division.

Schuylkill Valley

Coach: Amanda Shannon, fifth season.

Last season: 11-4 Berks II, 19-17.

Bowlers to watch: Kimberly Heck.

Outlook: The Panthers are trying to fill our roster to have a contending team.

Antietam

Coach: Matt Ahearn, 17th season.

Last season: 7-8 Berks II, 12-27.

Bowlers to watch: Liyah Beckett, Loren Beckett, Jamie Gill, Lico Cook.

Outlook: The Mounts have many new faces on the team this year and are looking to build experience and improve.

Hamburg

Coach: Dwight Heckman, ninth season.

Last season: 2-10 Berks II, 5-28.

Bowlers to watch: Makaylah Ammon, Rebecca Young.

Outlook: The Hawks are looking to rebound after missing playoffs last season for the first time in five years.

Berks Catholic

Coach: Todd Schoedler, first season.

Last season: 6-9 Berks II, 9-27.

Bowlers to watch: Information not reported.

Outlook: The Saints are mostly freshmen looking to gain experience.

Wyomissing

Coach: Randy Skokowski.

Last season: 1-11 Berks II, 3-30.
