Wilson boys swimming coach Roy Snyder earns his 600th victory

Wilson boys swimming coach Roy Snyder earned his 600th — and 601st — career wins Friday as the Bulldogs opened the season with victories over Cumberland Valley (136-47) and Dallastown (158-25) in a tri-meet at Mechanicsburg.

The 85-year-old Snyder, beginning his 59th season as Wilson’s coach, has a career mark of 601-114-1.

Since founding the program, Snyder has led the Bulldogs to 32 Central Penn Leagues titles, including the last eight; 22 District 3 championships, including the last six; and four PIAA titles.

Wilson’s next meet is at home — in the natatorium that bears Snyder’s name — on Dec. 8 at 4:15 p.m. vs. Muhlenberg.
