Wind advisory issued for southeastern PA, NJ until midnight

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory to be in effect starting at 3 p.m. Thursday and running until midnight for much of the Mid-Atlantic.

Included in the advisory are Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania, all of New Jersey and portions of Delaware and Maryland.

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects,” the advisory from the NWS Mount Holly office stated. “Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result.”

Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph are predicted, with gusts of 40 to 50 mph.

“Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution,” the advisory continued.

The high for Thursday is predicted to be around 45 degrees, with a low of 31 tonight. Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 50.

The sunny forecast continues through the weekend according to the NWS, with highs in the mid- to high 40s expected.
