The 2024 Schuylkill Winterfest is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 20, in downtown Pottsville.
The rain-or-shine event, presented by the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce, is a community celebration that will bring together residents and visitors alike for a day of fun, entertainment and shopping. Activities take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in an area that stretches from Alvernia Pottsville CollegeTowne, down Progress Avenue to the intersection of East Norwegian Street.
“We are incredibly excited to bring the community together for the 2024 Schuylkill Winterfest,” said Robert S. Carl Jr., chamber president and CEO. “This festival is not just an event; it’s a celebration of community.”
Carl said the event signifies togetherness, stimulates the local economy, shows support of local, small businesses and provides organizations with community outreach opportunities.
A Kids Corner will be located in the parking lot of Alvernia University Pottsville CollegeTowne, 500 Progress Ave. It will include a castle jumper, crafts, face painting and more.
The Explore Schuylkill Stage will be located at Logan and Arch streets. The entertainment schedule is as follows:
1–3 p.m.: The Boys Upstairs
3:15–3:45: Meet the contestants of the Greater Pottsville Winter Carnival
5–7 p.m.: Hooligan
The Yuengling Beer Bar, sponsored by Hidden River Credit Union, will be located on East Arch Street between PA CareerLink and the plaza that houses Dollar General.
Progress Avenue will be lined with more than 25 craft, food and spirit vendors.
