Repaving of Route 222 in Lancaster County just south of the Berks County line is scheduled to begin April 22.
PennDOT officials said the work is associated with a $7.6 million pavement preservation project from the Mohler Church Road overpass in Ephrata Township to Col. Howard Boulevard at the Denver/PA Turnpike Exit in East Cocalico Township.

Weather permitting, milling will be performed on northbound Route 222 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on April 22 through the night of April 24.
Starting the following week, work will be done Sunday through Thursday nights during the same hours. There will be short-term lane restrictions during work hours.
The project includes guide rail updates, line painting and sign updates on Route 222.
A long-term shoulder restriction is in place so a new access road can be built for the northbound Route 222 weigh station between the Lancaster County line and the Adamstown/Knauers Exit in Brecknock Township, Berks County. That work is being done during daytime hours behind a barrier.
Other traffic impacts include closing the shoulder at the PennDOT maintenance stockpile just north of the Ephrata Exit on northbound Route 222 and some weekend closures for bridge work.
