Worship service scheduled at historic Centre Township church [Religion digest]

• The second of three annually scheduled services will be held on Sunday at 9 a.m. at Old Belleman’s Church, 3540 Belleman’s Church Road, Centre Township. The church, maintained as dedicated in 1815, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It features a Bohler single-manual hand pump organ, original carpeting and oil cloth. There is no heat or air conditioning, electricity or indoor plumbing.

• United Church of Christ of Robesonia, 401 W. Penn Ave., will hold its annual car show today from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Awards will be given for five classes of cars. Food will be available for purchase. On Sunday, the church will hold a worship service at 10:30 a.m. in Pavilion Tent 4 at Knoebel’s Amusement Resort, 391 Knoebel’s Blvd., Elysburg, Northumberland County. Call the church office at 610-621-5770 if you’d like to participate. The Greeting Card Craft Group will meet on Thursday from 1-3 p.m. in Miller Fellowship Hall at the church.

• St. Peter’s of Molltown, 219 Maidencreek Road, Richmond Township, will hold a picnic next Saturday. Mike and Linda Hertzog and young performers Owen and Jakob will play from 5-6:30 p.m., with Days of Old performing from 7-8. Food is available from 4-8 and includes french fries, hotdogs, hamburgers, turkey BBQ, hamburger BBQ, soup, ice cream, ice cream floats and baked goods. Bring lawn chairs. Rain or shine.

• Zion’s Spies Evangelical Reformed Church, 318 Spies Church Road, Alsace Township, will hold a church retreat next Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., showing “Jesus Revolution.” Includes a light lunch.

• Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100, Washington Township, will hold a 25-cent sale and indoor/outdoor flea market today from 8-11 a.m. There will be a free community back-to-school outreach event next Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. with live music by Threefold Blessing, an appearance by the Keystone Ghostbusters Group, Touch-a-Truck, face painting, petting zoo with pony rides, bounce house, Just-Farm-Kids Tractor Club, refreshments, kids’ school supply giveaway, plus clothing, shoes, housewares, books and toys for free. • Joe DiCindio will be the guest organist and John Stoudt will play the trumpet at the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Douglass Township, Montgomery County. There will be Coffee and Conversation at 8:30 and 10 in the Welcome Center.

• Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 35 W. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, will hold a hymn sing and ice cream sundae party on Sunday at 3 p.m. The free event will be led by Matthew Wary on organ and Joe DeCindio on piano.

• Coffee hour will be held in the social room after the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will have a free drive-through, take-out meal today from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. No registration necessary.

• On Sunday morning from 9:05-9:45 a.m., Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading, will offer an adult forum in the first-floor parlor featuring Vestry Senior Warden Rick Wolf with “Holy Moments.” Parking is available at the Abe Lincoln Hotel garage and the M&T Bank lot, both off of Washington Street. Handicap spaces are available beside the church on Court Street.

• Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Hereford Township, will hold a pig roast and hoedown next Saturday. Meal includes a pulled pork sandwich, ear of corn, coleslaw, a drink and dessert. Cost is $12, available from 4-7 p.m., eat in or take out.  Keith Brintzenhoff will call the hoedown under the band pavilion from 6-8 p.m. Call 610-845-2626 to buy tickets. Tickets will also be available at the event.

• Music at the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Maidencreek Church, 261 Main St., Maidencreek Township, will feature piano solos by SaraAnn Arbonic and Kimberly Ayrton; a vocal group selection; and a ukulele solo by Betsy McGeorge.

• Bern Reformed United Church of Christ, 3196 Bernville Road, Bern Township, will feature the Turtle Moon Flute Circle at its 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday. The group will illustrate the spirituality of the indigenous peoples.

• St. Peter’s United Church of Christ Molltown, 219 Maidencreek Road, Richmond Township, will hold a picnic today that includes entertainment by Mike and Linda Hertzog, accompanied by Owen and Jakob, from 5-6:30 p.m. They will be followed by the band Days of Old from 7-8. Food includes turkey BBQ, hamburger BBQ, fresh cut fries, hotdogs, hamburgers, turkey noodle soup, ice cream, ice cream floats and baked goods.  The event will be held rain or shine.  Bring a lawn chair.

In order to have an event listed in the religion digest, it must be something that is not just a regular worship service.
