Wyomissing junior Amaya Stewart scored the 1,000th point of her career Saturday afternoon.
Stewart, the reigning Berks Player of the Year, scored 14 points to reach the milestone and help lead the Spartans (15-0) to a 43-36 victory over Middletown in a non-league girls basketball game at Wyomissing.
Stewart made four field goals for the Spartans, including two 3-pointers, and went 4-for-5 at the foul line to bring her career total to 1,006. She made a 3-pointer with 4:21 remaining in the second quarter to get to the 1,000 point mark, and also had six rebounds, one block and two steals.
Averaging 19.3 points per game, Stewart leads the Spartans in scoring and is second in Berks.
