Organizers estimated that more than 400 lined sidewalks in Kutztown on Saturday, June 14.
“This is our third and, by far, largest protest since April. Our numbers continue to grow with every move Trump makes toward dictatorship, every attempt to trample our rights, and every show of disregard for our Constitution,” Karen Feridun, organizer of the Kutztown protest, said in a statement.
Feridun said they intend to keep protesting for as long as it takes.
The Kutztown protest was one of many taking place in Berks County as part of the nationwide No Kings protest against President Donald J. Trump’s policies.
More than 2,000 people carrying signs and waving flags lined the Fifth Street Highway in Muhlenberg Township.
Meanwhile, an estimated 20 vehicles festooned with Trump banners and flags gathered in Exeter Township to take a lap around Berks County in honor of the president’s 79th birthday.
The lead vehicle in the train, organized by the Berks County Patriots and the Berks County Republican Committee, carried a large birthday cake for the president.
The twain briefly met when the Trump Train passed the protest on Fifth Street Highway, as parade participants honked their horns while the protesters continued with their cheers and chants.
In the protest organized by the Berks County Democratic Committee, participants shouted and waved among the din of honking horns of passing cars and trucks.
