Berks Catholic High School will induct eight new members into its Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame recognizes former student-athletes from the legacy schools — Central Catholic, Holy Name, and Reading Catholic — who achieved excellence in athletics during their high school careers.
The inductees will be honored at the induction ceremony on Friday, Sept. 5 in the Franco-Post Auditorium at Berks Catholic High School beginning at 6 p.m.
The 2025 inductees:
Joseph M. Calabria, Jr., Reading Catholic, Class of 1961
• Baseball MVP as a freshman, batting .331 with All-League honors.
• Three-year basketball player, named MVP and First Team All-League his junior yearwhile averaging 16.5 points per game.
Christina McEachern (Lisella), Central Catholic, Class of 2010
• Four-year letter winner in swimming, two-year letter winner in track.
• Qualified for PIAA District 3 championships and PIAA championships all fouryears.
• Named First Team All-State in swimming in 2009 and 2010.
Ed Levandowski, Central Catholic, Class of 1971
• Basketball MVP as a junior and senior, averaging nearly 18 points per game.
• Named Suburban Catholic League MVP and Unanimous All-City First Team selection.
• PCIAA state champion in the high jump (1971).
John Price, Holy Name, Class of 1973
• Earned 11 varsity letters in football, basketball, and track.
• 1972 state champion in the long jump, just months after breaking his ankle.
• 1973 Suburban Catholic League champion in long jump and triple jump, setting leaguerecords in both.
Brittany M. Rhoads (Brice), Central Catholic, Class of 2010
• Four-sport varsity athlete: volleyball, basketball, soccer, and bowling.
• Captain of both volleyball and soccer teams her senior year.
• Member of the 2007 state champion volleyball team.
• Recipient of the Thomas “Butch” Sullivan Award as Outstanding Senior FemaleAthlete.
Scott Saul – Holy Name, Class of 1996
• Four-year varsity letter winner in baseball.
• Three-time First Team All-Berks County selection (1994–1996).• Set school record for highest single-season batting average.
• First Berks County player to hit a home run out of Veterans Stadium in Carpenter Cuphistory.
Chris Simcik, Central Catholic, Class of 1972
• Eight varsity letters in football, basketball, and track and field.
• Three-year starter at offensive and defensive tackle.
• Named All-County Offensive and Defensive Tackle in both junior and senior years.
