To launch Hispanic Heritage Month, the Centro Cultural Latinos Unidos (CCLU) recently announced that the 9th annual Latin Festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, from noon until 5 p.m., with a rain date set for Saturday, Sept. 21. The free event takes place at Riverfront Park at the PECO pavilion, College Drive, Pottstown.
Held annually, the iconic festival provides a unique combination of both American and Latino cultures. Featured entertainment includes music by Mariachi Mayas, a fashion show with Latino costumes, food from several Latin American countries, gift card raffles, mechanical bull riding, a bounce house, a piñata, and other children’s games. Pottstown area artists will be engaging the public in arts and crafts. Free kayaking and bicycle riding are being offered by Take It Outdoors and the Schuylkill River Greenway.
The festival is a centerpiece of CCLU’s mission—To bridge American and Latino Cultures in the Greater Pottstown Area and connect families with needed educational, recreational, legal, and health services. For more information, visit CCLUPA.ORG.
