Adalyn Rose Foundation’s Largest Event This Weekend

From Adalyn Rose Foundation

The Adalyn Rose Foundation (ARF), a Reading-based nonprofit organization, plans to host 1,000 people at the Berks County Heritage Center on Sunday, Oct. 12, for their fifth annual Empty Stroller Run and Walk.

Already, $90,000 has been raised for the Empty Stroller Annual Fundraising Event and Campaign, which will be used to fund their mission of supporting families grieving the loss of a baby during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood.

Participants can join the Empty Stroller Run & Walk virtually or by attending in-person events on Sunday, Oct. 12 (Reading), Saturday, Oct. 18 (Lewistown), and Sunday, Oct. 19 (Scranton). Registration can be done online at www.adalynrose.org/upcoming-events.

ARF Founder and Executive Director Chloe Ciferri shared, “There is a huge community of people who have lost a child and want to honor them while helping the families who come after.”

Over the past several years, the Adalyn Rose Foundation team has built a comprehensive system of care that includes training healthcare professionals, providing immediate resources and remembrance keepsakes in 46 hospitals, and ensuring families never have to navigate life after baby loss alone.

Like the organization’s programs and services, the Empty Stroller Run & Walk has grown significantly since its inception. Co-founder and Board President Adam Ciferri reflected, “We’ve grown this event from 160 participants in the first year to more than 1,500 nationwide. The love and support from the community have been incredible and have shown just how needed this organization truly is.”

Participants attending the in-person event at the Berks County Heritage Center can enjoy a post-race celebration featuring live music by Erich Cawalla and Friends from The Uptown Band, an array of raffles, complimentary coffee and donuts, and local food trucks. Families will also enjoy a kids’ area with face painting, balloon artists, magic, vendor stations, photo opportunities with popular characters, and a bubble show.

Chloe and Adam Ciferri shared, “This event is deeply meaningful for so many families. Each year, it brings the community together in remembrance and hope, while raising critical funds to support families walking through loss.”
