ARL Partners with Petco to Promote Cats’ Adoptions

from Animal Rescue League of Berks County

The Animal Rescue League of Berks County (ARL) partnered with Petco to offer cat adoptions at its Wyomissing location starting this Sunday, Sept. 15.

“We are excited for this partnership to provide second chances to the cats we care for,” said ARL’s shelter director Amara Cordero. “This collaboration will allow us to bring our cats directly into the community, increasing their visibility and giving them a better chance to find loving homes. By working together, we’re not only expanding our reach but also making a real difference in the lives of these animals and the families who adopt them.”

The new partnership will kick off with a mobile adoption event featuring ARL’s Mobile Adoption Unit this Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the 2765 Papermill Road Petco parking lot. Adoption fees vary by pet. A limited amount of cats will be available for adoption daily at the store.

Adopters must go through the ARL’s regular procedures to adopt, including completing an adoption profile and speaking with an adoption counselor to ensure that the pet they select is a good match for their home, family, and lifestyle. Adopters will also want to bring a cat carrier (or they can purchase one from the ARL for $5.)

For more information, please get in touch with the ARL at adoption@berksarl.org. To view the adoptable cats that will be available at the event and at the store, visit https://berksarl.org/offsite/.

The ARL acquired the Mobile Adoption and Clinic Unit earlier this year thanks in part to funding from Petco Love. This event is the sixth mobile adoption event since the unit was launched last May.
