BARTA to Offer Free Ride for Bicyclists During National Bike to Work Week

From Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority

Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA) will be offering a free ride for any passenger who chooses to travel “multi-modal” when they bring their bike onboard the bus for any part of their trip starting Monday, May 12, through Friday, May 16, as part of recognizing National Bike to Work Week. BARTA encourages bicycling and transit together as good alternative modes of transportation.

BARTA’s bus fleet has bike racks located in the front of the vehicle for customers to use. The bike racks can carry two bikes at a time. Normally, passengers who board BARTA buses with a bike must pay the regular adult fare. During National Bike to Work Week, their ride will be free. *Please note that scooters are not eligible for the promotion. Visit www.bartabus.com for BARTA’s bike and scooter policies.

May is recognized as National Bike Month. For more information about National Bike Month, visit www.bikeleague.org. For more information about BARTA’s Bike to Work Week promotion, visit www.bartabus.com or call 610-921-0601.
