BCHC to Celebrate National Health Center Week

from Berks Community Health Center

Berks Community Health Center will celebrate National Health Center Week with two Community Day events. These events are free and open to the public. National Health Center Week is Aug. 4-10 and celebrates America’s over 1,400 community health centers.

BCHC’s celebration begins on Tuesday, Aug. 6, with Community Day at Oakbrook (1040 Liggett Ave.) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Community Day at 838 Penn St. is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both events are open to all members of the community and will include bounce houses, a dunk tank, and other fun activities for children. There will also be music, refreshments, health screenings, raffle prizes, and information tables presented by local community, health, social services, and government organizations and representatives. Government representatives will attend both events.

To support BCHC during this important week, a fundraiser is being held on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in Wyomissing. Simply tell Anthony’s that you are eating to support BCHC, and 20% of your order will be donated back to BCHC.
