BCTV Launches ‘Pagoda Glow: Audio After Dark’ Showcasing Local Podcasts

Reading, PA – Berks Community Television (BCTV) is turning up the volume with the launch of “Pagoda Glow: Audio After Dark,” a brand-new late-night programming block dedicated to showcasing locally-produced podcasts. The audio-forward segment debuts October 1 and will air daily starting at midnight on BCTV’s broadcast and online platforms. Individual podcast playlists are also available for on-demand listening at any time at youtube.com/@bctvberks/podcasts

This initiative follows closely on the heels of BCTV’s recent expansion into podcast services, offering studio space, production support, and distribution channels to local creators. “Pagoda Glow” serves as a platform to amplify these voices, giving community podcasters a unique opportunity to be heard by a broader audience.

“BCTV has always been about connecting people through media content,” said Heather Adams, Executive Director of BCTV. “With ‘Pagoda Glow,’ we’re spotlighting the creative, thought-provoking, and sometimes delightfully offbeat voices of Berks County — while giving night owls something worth staying up for. We are thrilled to see so much interest in producing and platforming podcasts with BCTV, and we are excited to quickly grow our selection of playlists.”

BCTV also welcomes Berks County content creators that produce their own podcasts outside of BCTV to include their episodes in the mix, in an effort to offer easy, free access to a robust selection of playlists that are rooted in the local community.

Each night, viewers and listeners can expect a rotating lineup of original podcasts ranging from arts and culture to history, interview features, wellness, local business, and beyond. The block will include both audio-only and enhanced audio-visual versions of podcast episodes, curated to reflect the diversity and creativity of Berks County’s storytelling scene.

“Pagoda Glow: Audio After Dark”:

  • Airing nightly starting at midnight on BCTV’s cable channel, Roku Channel, and livestreams on bctv.org and YouTube.com/@bctvberks
  • Rotating mixed schedule of local podcasts produced through BCTV’s new podcast initiative and including local creator submissions
  • Audio-focused format, expanding the role of storytelling on community TV

“Podcasting is a powerful tool for expression and connection,” said Adams. “We’re proud to help members of our community bring their voices to new audiences—both through traditional and digital channels.”

Community members interested in creating a podcast or submitting their own podcast content for “Pagoda Glow” are encouraged to contact BCTV for more information and visit www.bctv.org/host-a-podcast.
