BCTV Launches Podcasting Services to Amplify Local Voices

From Berks Community Television

Berks Community Television (BCTV) is proud to announce the launch of new podcasting services, expanding its mission to empower and engage the Berks County community through media. Local individuals, organizations, and creators can now produce and distribute their own podcasts using BCTV’s professional studio space and production support.

“Our goal has always been to provide accessible tools for people to tell their own stories,” said Heather Adams, Executive Director of BCTV. “Podcasting is a natural extension of our community media work and a terrific addition to our studio capability. It opens the door for even more voices to be heard. We are thrilled with the positive response we have received in the months building up to our public launch and look forward to seeing more community members engage in opportunities to be content creators with BCTV.”

BCTV’s podcasting services include professional staff assistance and production support for all skill levels — new podcasters to pros!

  • Convenient set location and accessibility
  • Distribution on BCTV’s established platforms and YouTube channel
  • Affordable options for:
    • Porting ‘make and take’ digital files
    • Management of distribution to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, and more
    • Post-production editing

The podcast equipment and set materials were purchased with the support of Customers Bank. “Customers Bank is proud to support this public podcasting space — empowering voices, fostering community dialogue, and ensuring everyone has access to tools that inspire creativity, connection, and shared stories,” said Jay Sidhu, Executive Chair, Customers Bank.

BCTV welcomes nonprofits looking to highlight their mission, local experts with a message to share, and community members with great story ideas to explore podcasting service at BCTV as a user-friendly, affordable way to reach new audiences.

Podcasts created at BCTV can also be featured on BCTV’s website and platforms, helping creators expand their reach and connect with the broader Berks County community.

Interested individuals or organizations can learn more by visiting bctv.org/host-a-podcast.

On Wednesday, September 17 from 5:30-7:30 there will be an informational open house at the BCTV studio to learn more about podcasting opportunities and answer questions you may have. Space is limited, if you are interested in attending, please email Heather Adams hadams@bctv.org
